To the moon, again
Under the cut spoilers
So, I bawl numerous of time due to the scene where Eva 'moved' River away from Johnny's life. Watching the scenes many times had me thinking.
All the memories created by both Johnny and River all through their lives, from the courting to marriage to her death are deleted? They are all overwritten by generated computer data? I mean, it was the sacrifice?
Holy.
Oh my god, I'm getting emotional again.
Why.
I mean.
Johnny died believing in something that never happened OVER the genuine ones?
Okay, they did get married and build the house again, with Joey being there too, but still, isn't it...depressing?
It's like the literal meaning of 'living a lie'. Maybe Johnny is happy with this, but...I don't know, I feel very conflicted about this.
In Johnny's mind, 'River' is still River. The same quiet girl with asperger syndrome that he married, who also conveniently went to the moon in his final 'memory'.
One part of my mind kept saying that it's okay if he's happy, but still, the other part kept arguing that it means his memory of his life is just...a refined data rewritten by a computer; done so artificially it became perfect.
Holy overcooked macaroni, my mind is just jumbled up.
Oh well, we don't know where we will go and our state of mind after death after all.
So, I guess it's okay if Johnny just wanted to 'live life to its fullest' and accomplished his dream.
Lol. See, I'm getting so worked up over pixel characters.
Oh gamemaker, you're awesome.Labels: games, personal
